A delegation from Schneider Electric visited the Energy Lab on the North Campus at the end of November to talk to researchers about topics including Power2X, direct air capture, smart grids, and networks of the future. Informative tours of the Energy Lab's facilities rounded off the program.

Professor Christian Koos is receiving the 2025 Karl Heinz Beckurts Prize for his research into high-performance optical networks. The electrical engineer is developing new technologies that enable large amounts of data to be transferred more quickly and energy-efficiently—for example, in data centers or in AI training.
